Post#5 Drive In Pisgah

I always go for a drive when I feel like I want some time alone to either regroup and get some time to unwind, or just to have some fun driving around new places exploring and listening to music. Two Sundays ago now I think, I went for a drive right after dinner, I didn't really know where I was going I just wanted to go for a little drive in Pisgah National forest. I was trying to find a lookout that I had heard about but didn't really know where it was or how far it was from Brevard. So I just started driving but knew I only had limited light left so I didn't make it my first priority. I stopped by looking glass falls for a few minutes which was really pretty, there was a decent group of people there all hanging out as well. I left and kept going up for another 12-15 minutes but didn't see any lookouts except for one gate that looked promising but was closed since it was after 7:00. I did come across a dirt road though which I love driving on! They were what I always drove on back In New Hampshire because they were everywhere. I turned onto it and it said there was some sort of camp at the end of the road so that's what I was shooting for. The road was a lot of fun, there were some spots where I got to crawl a little bit because it was really washed out and other spots that were pretty smooth that I could really get moving on. I went down it for about ten minutes until I got to a fork in the road and both were gated and locked up which was too bad. The one going through was here I wanted to get to and I'm not sure where the other one led to. Even though it was a shorter ride than I was hoping for it was still fun and I ripped back to the main road. By then it was totally dark and I decided to head back to school.

    I'm so glad you are exploring! Have you been up to Dupont yet? I guess there's less driving and more hiking/riding. It's beautiful, too.

 Yesterday I went wheeling with a buddy who I've been following on Instagram for a while but had never met. It turns out he graduated from Brevard a couple years ago and we met playing golf with a few of my friends who knew him from when he was here. We hit it off on the course and Thom said he would take it out with him which is what we did. It was a lot of fun! His rig is very nice and much more built out than mine so I was a little bit worried about whether I could keep up with him on the trail. It turns out I was able to and it wasn't too difficult it was just very narrow, I got a lot of new pinstripes on my paint. His FJ got through with a lot less difficult but my 4Runner did completely fine and I was happy with its performance for mostly stock besides suspensions and tires. Post#7 UNC Chapel Hill

 Last weekend I went to visit my cousin who goes to UNC-Chapel Hill. I left early Saturday morning for the 4-hour drive to be there by the 12 o'clock kick-off time football had against 8-0 Wake Forest. I immediately loved the vibes I got when I arrived on campus. there were so many people walking around and going to the game, massive parties outside, and music. We met up by his dorm and then went to the game. it was really good, they were playing pretty evenly as they went back and forth with the touchdowns. in the end, after some pretty exciting plays and turnovers, the Heels won 58-55. After the game, we rushed the field with the rest of the fans and that was insane. it was really sick to be playing around with the music and all the players around us as well. Post#3 Brotherhood

     M any of us worry about meeting new people and making friends when going or visiting new places, which is understandable but What I have come to find out for myself is that it really isn't as nerve-wracking as it may initially fell ahead of time. The best way to get started when you are beginning from scratch is to find people who have a commonality with you, for example, it could be sports, music, outdoor activities, art, etc.  Because when you spend time with people who have those similar interests you will then meet even more people who are similar to yourself and you will form a tighter bond quicker. For me, this has been helpful to have found and understood for living at a boarding school, Joining different soccer clubs, working, and now going to college. Most of my best friends I have made through soccer and that is continuing here at Brevard.
