Image
I  always go for a drive when I feel like I want some time alone to either regroup and get some time to unwind, or just to have some fun driving around new places exploring and listening to music. Two Sundays ago now I think, I went for a drive right after dinner, I didn't really know where I was going I just wanted to go for a little drive in Pisgah National forest. I was trying to find a lookout that I had heard about but didn't really know where it was or how far it was from Brevard. So I just started driving but knew I only had limited light left so I didn't make it my first priority. I stopped by looking glass falls for a few minutes which was really pretty, there was a decent group of people there all hanging out as well. I left and kept going up for another 12-15 minutes but didn't see any lookouts except for one gate that looked promising but was closed since it was after 7:00. I did come across a dirt road though which I love driving on! They were what I always...

A   few days ago JD, Dylan, and I went to the tennis matches that Brevard was playing in, It was fun to watch and I learned a bit a bit more about Tennis because I had never really watched it before. Unfortunately out of the matches we watched no one from Brevard came away with a win but it was still a good time! Afterward Dylan said he was going to go to the driving range so JD and I decided to tag along. I hadn't been to a range in a long time so I was pretty rusty at a first but after a good few swings I got back in my rhythm. I've never been a big golfer, But have always enjoyed it. I've only been to a course a handful of times and most of them were with my Aunt and Uncle at Pinehurst number 4 because they live very nearby. It is a very beautiful course and I had a blast each time we went. I am not very good but I have been to driving ranges a decent amount over the years and love it. The one we went to in Brevard isn't the nicest but it is perfectly fine for what i...

M any of us worry about meeting new people and making friends when going or visiting new places, which is understandable but What I have come to find out for myself is that it really isn't as nerve-wracking as it may initially fell ahead of time. The best way to get started when you are beginning from scratch is to find people who have a commonality with you, for example, it could be sports, music, outdoor activities, art, etc.  Because when you spend time with people who have those similar interests you will then meet even more people who are similar to yourself and you will form a tighter bond quicker. For me, this has been helpful to have found and understood for living at a boarding school, Joining different soccer clubs, working, and now going to college. Most of my best friends I have made through soccer and that is continuing here at Brevard. My dad always told me that I will make friends in college that will last my whole life, I know he did because he s...

Image
M oving away from home and my family has been a pretty easy transition for me, I miss them but since I was at a boarding school and boarded for my senior year I was used to being away from them and feeling comfortable doing things on my own. I still definitely miss family time and am happy that my aunt and uncle, cousins, and great aunt and uncle live in North Carolina, though it is about four hours away from Brevard. Though my Great aunt and Uncle are retired they still stay very busy so I was very happy to hear that they were coming to see our game against Covenant. Unfortunately, I didn’t play last night but they were still happy to see the game and enjoyed it. Afterward the game we went out to dinner at Quixote which was nice and very good food, then we walked around town and I showed them the different stores. It was nice to spend the evening with them and get breakfast with them this morning! I look forward to visiting them soon when the season is over.
